Rare Victorian Christening Set - 1900's
This remarkable christening ensemble dating from the early 1900s is a true heritage treasure. Comprising three pieces—a long gown trimmed with lace, a fine embroidered wool cape, and a matching bonnet—it embodies the elegance and delicacy of Victorian formal wear.
The cape, crafted from soft ivory wool, fastens at the front with three sets of silky satin ribbons. Two of these are decorated with exquisite hand-sewn circular appliqués. Fine lace ruffles adorn the shoulders and top yoke.
The 38-inch dress is made of fine fabric and covered in delicately embroidered tulle with floral motifs and sequins, with a lace-trimmed neckline and sleeves.
The matching hat perfectly completes this historically rich set, ideal for a collection, a ceremony or a nostalgic decoration.
