Lace and tulle wedding dress – circa late 1940s
Elegance from another era, this magnificent late 1940s wedding dress reflects both the modesty and femininity that characterized the bridal outfits of this decade.
The fitted bodice, entirely covered in floral lace, features a bateau neckline adorned with a delicate lace border applied over sheer tulle, creating a refined illusion effect. The long, tapered sleeves fasten delicately at the wrist, while the back, the centerpiece of the dress, is adorned with 39 small fabric-covered buttons extending to the bottom of the bodice—a typical detail of the period.
The skirt is composed of two side panels of vaporous tulle that frame a central panel of lace matching the bodice, adding volume without excess and creating a striking effect of lightness.
Size: 27 inches. No manufacturing label, but the careful craftsmanship suggests the work of an experienced seamstress or specialized workshop.
This perfectly preserved dress comes with its period veil attached to a matching lace headpiece, making it a complete ensemble ready to wear or display.

NOTE: Garments are not cleaned before sale. If you plan to wear them, dry cleaning or delicate washing (depending on the fabric) is recommended.
